Parmigiano Reggiano is produced according to strict traditional specifications and ripens over many months. Depending on the maturation period, it develops a robust, aromatic flavor with nutty and slightly fruity notes, as well as the typical firm, granular to crumbly texture that makes it one of the most renowned Italian hard cheeses.
The cheese is available in various packaging and portion sizes – for example, as portions for self-service areas, for the cheese counter, or for direct use in the kitchen. For counter operations, wholesale, and gastronomy, whole wheels are also available, allowing for flexible cutting and individual portioning.
In addition, various wedge formats, as well as grated varieties or flakes, are available.
